Banca Popolare di Vicenza was established in 1866. In 2003 the BPVI Group was Italy's 6th largest co-operative Bank and was ranked 18th nation-wide in terms of consolidated total assets. For its extremely high BIS ratio, the Bank is one of the most capitalized banks in Italy and it is recognized among the most capitalized banks in the world. For more than 135 years the Bank has been offering retail and corporate banking services in the province of Vicenza, where its headquarters are located. Even though mainly concentrated in the North-Eastern part of Italy, BPVI Group now operates all over the country through a network of 483 branches. Based in Vicenza, it has grown in the past few years thanks both to network development and to external acquisition.
